Seascraper \\ Marghera tower

The building, designed with Massimilano Ros and Paolo Toldo, is a counter proposal to Jean Nouvel’s skyscraper for Marghera.

The project arose after urban design with the building set on Venice lagoon’s shoreline. It’s a multifunctional skyscraper composed of three different blades with a different structural language for each one, unified by the concrete cores. The blades have different heights depending on the solar exposure. The building on the water has a curved shape and the lower part is an independent building for student housing, served by an internal linear core. In the upper part are located a series of apartments, served by two small external cores. The middle building hosts a linear core dedicated to the hotel in the upper part and to the apartments in the adjacent building. It also shares another core and the stories with the lower building, both ideally designed to be offices.

The shot wants to show the relation between the skylight and the lagoon and how the light affects the different blades. A sunset with pink light conveys a sense of softness while enhancing the reflection of the skyscraper’s glass, providing a sensation of calm and relaxation to the monumental design.
